Two Demolition Workers Injured at Site of Apartment Fire

The same St. Louis apartment building that was the scene of a fierce fire in July, leaving the building devastated and 250 people displaced from their homes, was the scene of an accident on November 11. In a story published by St. Louis Post Dispatch November 12 it was reported that two demolition workers were rescued after a stairwell collapsed and the complex on Lindell Boulevard. The men were pulled from the rubble by rescue workers approximately twenty minutes after the collapse and taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Demolition workers need to be properly protected at all times while on the job to avoid injury.  In cases like the one mentioned above where a serious accident occurs any worker injured in the course of his job may be due damages. Employees who suffer these types of injuries will also have worker compensation available for medical injuries and disability income if time is lost from work.

If you have been injured on the job and feel you’ve been treated unfairly by an insurance company while collecting workers compensation you need to speak to a St. Louis personal injury attorney immediately. Our personal injury experts at Hoffman & Gelfman can outline your rights and work diligently to ensure that everything is being done to protect those rights.
