St. Louis County Teen Charged after Crash that Killed His Passenger

Teenagers and alcohol definitely don’t mix. This is even more apparent after one St. Louis County teen got behind the wheel of his pickup truck last April and proceeded to crash into a tree. As a result, the driver suffered from severe injuries, but his passenger passed away.

According to an article on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website, it has taken this long to charge the teenager who was responsible. According to authorities who were on the scene of the crash, his blood alcohol level was 0.088%. He has been charged with first degree involuntary manslaughter, and his bail was set for $25,000.

Summertime is a popular time for teens to indulge themselves in parties where alcohol is present. That means the risk of them getting behind the wheel of a car is quite high this time of year. As your St. Louis personal injury attorney, we want to remind you that it’s important to make sure you know where your teens are at all times. Also, make sure they know how dangerous alcohol is, and that they should never get into a car with someone who has been drinking.

If your teen is injured in a car accident because of a poor decision, or because of the negligent behavior of someone else, please contact a St. Louis personal injury attorney right away to discuss your case.
