Man who Shot Unarmed Woman on His Porch is Convicted – Claims Self Defense

There are far too many shootings in St. Louis, but the fact is that senseless shootings occur all over the country. One fifty-five-year-old Detroit man has been convicted of second-degree murder and manslaughter after shooting and killing a nineteen-year-old woman. She was drunk that night, and had crashed her car into a tree nearby, according to the article on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website.

It is unclear why the woman approached this man’s house, but he claimed that he shot and killed her in self defense. The shooting occurred two hours after the crash took place. When the verdict was read, the family was very happy that this man would have pay for his crimes.

Although this incident happened elsewhere, senseless shootings occur in St. Louis on a regular basis. Some people are fortunate enough to walk away with minor injuries, but far too many lose their lives because someone else chose to use a gun.
