Fatal Car Accident Results After Possible Police Chase in St. Louis

Unfortunately, car accidents happen quite frequently in St. Louis. Recently, a serious car accident claimed the life of a sixteen-year-old male after witnesses say that he fled from police.

According to an article on the Belleville News-Democrat website, police officers could not confirm that there was actually a police chase that took place. The article stated that the young man crashed into a tree and a utility pole, and he died at the scene of the crash. The police chief did confirm that St. Louis police officers had conducted a traffic stop with the young man just prior to the crash.

It was fortunate that there was no one else in the vehicle at the time of the crash. It’s also fortunate that there were no pedestrians involved, especially since the accident happened in a residential area in East St. Louis. The article was not clear as to what caused the crash to occur. It might have been distracted driving, or it might have been negligence. An investigation is still underway as to what caused it.

This accident could have been much worse, as innocent pedestrians are often injured in single car accidents. If you’re injured in a single car accident, please contact your St. Louis car accident attorney right away. Only a qualified St. Louis car accident attorney will be able to properly advise you on your case, and help you get proper compensation.
