Fatal Car Accident Leaves Many With Questions On Christmas Eve

The Christmas and New Year’s holiday season is notorious for being the time of year when police officers see an increase of motor vehicle accidents. Many factors come into play during this time of year, whether it’s drugs and alcohol, driving too quickly to finish shopping, or just being distracted, all of these contribute to the number of St. Louis holiday accidents. As your St. Louis personal injury attorney, it’s our goal to provide you with the help you need if you’re a victim of an accident.

On Christmas Eve, there was a fatal accident on I-57 in southern Illinois, which left two people dead, and four people seriously injured. The accident occurred because the driver of an SUV, a twenty-two-year-old woman, lost control of the vehicle, and then crossed the median. The vehicle was then hit by a tractor trailer. Two of the passengers did not survive the crash. The remaining people and the driver were taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries, according to an article on KMOV.

Until more information is released, it’s unclear whether or not there were other factors at play that caused the accident. Regardless of whether or not the accident could have been prevented, these situations require a consultation with a St. Louis auto accident attorney as soon as possible. If you or someone you love is in an accident, please do not hesitate to contact us right away.
