E-cigs: How Do They Affect Your Teen?

If you are the parent of a teenager, it can be difficult to keep up with everything they do or want to do as they often want to follow the lead of their peers. There are a lot of temptations for them in this world and some things are very clearly good or bad. Some things, however, have been made to look like they’re good, but have some very dangerous consequences. One of these is the e-cigarette.

A story on Fox2Now St,Louis tells that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says use of e-cigs is substantially up, especially among teenagers. The video story tells that the dangerous thing about them is that while there is no tobacco in the liquid used in e-cigs, there is nicotine. There also are byproducts in e-cigs, potentially formaldehyde.

Many people, adults and teens, think that because there’s no tobacco in e-cigs, they won’t be a problem. Because of the good smell and flavor of the liquid, these are very appealing to teenagers and possibly even younger kids. And, part of the issue is that teenagers have little problem obtaining e-cigs. The nicotine in these can be addictive and can have harmful effects on the brain. When the highly concentrated liquids are ingested. the person can become very sick.
