Death Caused By Man Driving While Drunk

Drinking and driving is a dangerous combination which can have life changing consequences in a blink of an eye!  Statistics show that in 2009, there were 878 accidents in the state of Missouri.  Of those accidents, 358 were alcohol related.  Of those that were alcohol related, 300 or 41% resulted in a senseless fatality.

Stltoday.com reported that on March 12, 2012 that Elvedin Halkic, ran a red light at about 1:00 a.m. on March 11, 2012.  Reports are that Edna “Sue” Binder, who police have found did have the right of way, was struck by Halkic when he ran a red light.  St. Louis County police have charged Halkic with driving while intoxicated and involuntary manslaughter.  Ms. Binder’s injuries were so significant that it resulted in her death.

As in this case, as well so many others, automobile accidents can change the life of an individual or family permanently. People who are injured or families who have unjustly lost a loved one in a car accident need a St. Louis drunk driving attorney which has experience in obtaining monetary awards for victims of automobile accidents.    Recognizing that no amount of money will replace a beloved family member that was wrongfully killed in a car accident, the St. Louis Injury Lawyers at Hoffman & Gelfman will work diligently to collect the compensation that you deserve.
