80-Year-Old St. Louis Man Charged with Harassment of Mother and Daughter

An eighty-year-old St. Louis man has been charged with harassment after attempting to lure a twelve-year-old girl and her mother into his car. The attempts occurred on different occasions earlier this year, and these incidents were a part of a long-standing trend with this man that dates back to the 1990’s. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website, the man received two charges; one for a misdemeanor and one for a felony.

Authorities state that the man first attempted to lure the young girl by offering her candy. She fled the scene, and her mother saw the man’s car but didn’t notify police. On a separate day, the man approached the mother, demanding that she get into his vehicle. Five days later, he made another attempt to get the mother into his car. At that time, the woman notified police of the incident, and the man was arrested.

These incidents resulted in criminal charges, however, the police should have been notified after the very first incident. As a parent, you pray your child never faces something similar. However, if he or she does, please notify the police right away.

It’s also important to contact a St. Louis personal injury attorney to find out if you can pursue compensation. Harassment is a very serious charge, and an attorney will offer you the legal advice you need.
